Degree Show

Last night i went to the private view of the Bath Spa Degree show. Over two campuses, there was Fine Art, Graphics, Textiles and Fashion (BA and MA) and Creative Arts. The talent was amazing and truly inspiring.
Of course my first port of call was the Fashion and Textile department. The work ranged from stuffed animals to transparent hanging installations to magical wardrobes. I have the say the MA work was stunning.
Here's some of my favourite photo's...

This was my favourite, by a long shot. im not sure why but i was completely drawn in by it and just wanted to look at it forever.

we heart it♥

A few weeks ago, a friend introduced me to a beautiful website. The entire mood and feel of the site just completely encaptures me. Its a safe bet that you'll find some photography that you like.

GFW

Well, i can officially say my Graduate Fashion Week virginity has been firmly taken. Words cannot even describe how much fun i had. So im not going to waste them...
Here are some of my favourite photos, from the Bath show (obviously), because they did amazingly well!

Overall, it was a day filled with v.i.p. seats accompanied by Paul Smith gift bags, seeing the lovely Erin O'connor, being complimented on my outfit and a photo of me being posted on another blog (of which i am yet to find!), watching tinie tempa (then being crushed by his large following), seeing Susie from the amazing 'Style Bubble' and of course looking at the most beautiful garments from the creme-de-la-creme of up-coming fashion talent.

And just one last thing to finish, the gorgeous blonde fellow (second from the left) saved the show, seeing as one highly professional male model decided to back out.
Well done Nick on his GFW debut.

Extreme Knitting

...Yes, this may sound a bit odd. How can knitting be 'extreme' i hear you cry. Well check out these knits and i hope you will be as impressed as i was!

LinkThis knitted ferrari was made by Lauren Porter, a fine art student from my university.
You can see more of her work here.

More spiders.

Since i decided to base my personal project on spiders, i have been stalked. i was followed (by the biggest spider i have EVER seen) from my studio space, down to the cafe, where it joined me for a cuppa tea but i, very rudely and hastily, moved away.
because of my crippling phobia of spiders, i didn't manage to get any photos (and also due to my hysterical screaming and flailing arms).

i dreaded the moment when i was forced to type 'spiders' into google, but here are a couple of drawings...

Wallpaper

Just a quick post, as i am off home for the weekend to see my beloved who's been in China for the past couple of weeks.
But i thought i would just show you my wallpaper i printed recently for a commission for a hospital in Bristol.
If you're a true fan, then you'll probably notice its based on my embroidery project, as this was what i was doing at the time.
The photo's aren't great but hope you like them!

Love is in the air.

Lately, i have noticed a combination of my two most favourite things: Love & Vintage.
I am in a total euphoric state, wandering around the antique shops of Cirencester and the back streets of Bath, with the amount of 'Vintage Love' there is.
Rustic finishing. Full hearts. Swirly, soft type-faces.
Of course, this isen't just limited in antique gift shops. It is now a real trend, filtering into the high street with 'Love' jewellery becoming more and more popular in stores such as asos and Accessorize.
It's official. Im in love with Love.

My current collection. Some little experiments of mine....

An apology.. and some dresses.

Well, it has been a bit too long since my last post so i feel i must apologise. To make matters worse, i would like to excuse myself by saying that i have been swamped with work (which is partly true) but the reality is, i was whisked away for a romantic weekend for the bank holiday.
Anyway, i havent really had anything to report or to post as i have only really been draping on the stand for the past couple of weeks.

But here are some of my favourite images from the work i have produced...

(Ok, so this has nothing to do with Easter but it cropped up today during a conversation about daffodils... which also has nothing to do with it!)

Isn't it gorgeous though? Lisa Snowdon modelled the dress... made of Kleenex ultra soft tissues (can you believe), which was created by Ben de Lisi.
